KINDERGARTEN
The Early Years represent a unique and foundational stage in every individual’s life, a time when the seeds of independence, curiosity, and critical thinking begin to flourish. At ISR, we believe in creating a stimulating, nurturing, and inclusive environment where each child can grow with confidence and develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Recognising the strategic importance of early childhood for the future of society, we are committed to providing ideal conditions for young learners to thrive, celebrating their potential and fostering their growth as engaged and principled members of a global community.

As an IB World School authorized for the PYP, ISR and the Early Years classes follow the IB Primary Years Programme in an Early Years setting.
Through an inquiry-based programme, we encourage and foster the children to become global citizens who are independent learners, risk-takers, inquirers, thinkers, communicators, and principled.

The PYP transdisciplinary framework offers young learners authentic opportunities to focus on key developmental abilities such as communication and self-management skills.
The learning community values the early years as a time in which play is the primary driver for inquiry.
Through play-based learning, children develop and nurture fundamental knowledge and skills.

Play involves choice, promotes agency, and provides opportunities to inquire into important concepts and personal interests.

International School of Rimini is an IB World School authorized for the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
The PYP is designed for young learners aged 3 to 12, providing a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters a deep sense of curiosity. With a focus on developing critical thinking, creativity, and a love for exploration, the PYP empowers students to ask questions, seek answers, and engage with the world around them.

The PYP’s transdisciplinary themes provide authentic learning experiences that go beyond traditional subject boundaries, encouraging learners to address real-world problems and take meaningful action in their communities and beyond.
Each unit of inquiry focuses on significant, enduring concepts—called Central Ideas—that offer lasting and transferable understandings. From Transition onwards, learners engage in six units of inquiry annually, while Early Years classes explore four longer-running units, collectively forming ISR’s Programme of Inquiry (POI).
