The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a nonprofit foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and founded in 1968.There are currently over 4,000 IB schools worldwide. Schools offering the IB curriculum undergo a rigorous authorisation process and are regularly evaluated by an IB team.

Students at International Baccalaureate® (IB) World Schools are given a unique, challenging and diverse education.

IB learners are:

  • encouraged to think critically and solve complex problems

  • drive their own learning

  • a core part in educational programmes that can lead them to some of the highest-ranking universities around the world

  • more culturally aware through the development of a second language 

  • able to engage with people in an increasingly globalized, rapidly changing world.

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers a continuum of international education through four challenging, high quality educational programmes to students aged 3 to 19.

  • Primary Years Programme (PYP)

The PYP marks the start of a lifelong journey. It develops caring and culturally aware children aged 3 – 12 to become active participants in their own learning.
Age range: 3-12 | First offered:1997

  • Middle Years Programme (MYP)

Building a solid academic foundation, the MYP develops students’ confidence in managing their own learning and making connections between their learning in the classroom and the real world.

Age range: 11-16 | First offered:1994

  • Diploma Programme (DP)

A future-ready programme that builds students’ inquiring mindset, fosters their desire to learn, and prepares them to excel at their careers and lead meaningful lives.
Age range: 16-19 | First offered:1968

  • Career-related Programme (DP)

A unique programme for students in their final school years. It equips them with future-ready skills and prepares them to follow their career pathways—combining academic subjects with their own professional interests.
Age range: 16-19 | First offered: 2012

IB WORLD SCHOOL IN ROMAGNA

International School of Rimini (ISR) is an IB World School authorized for the PYP. 

International School of Rimini is a candidate school* for the MYP. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students. 

* Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

EARLY YEARS & PRIMARY SCHOOL

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3 - 12 nurtures and develops young students as active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.

SECONDARY SCHOOL

The ISR Secondary programme is for learners aged 11-16.

The school currently welcomes the first class (Grade 6) of Secondary School and will add a grade each year till Grade 10. 

Our international framework, which is benchmarked against international learning standards, continues to encourage our learners to make practical connections within each subject area as our  learners explore and discover knowledge through global concepts. International School of Rimini is a candidate school* for the MYP. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
